Try it now

Automation builders enforce character limits, and a message that is a few characters too long gets rejected at the last step. Paste your text, choose where it will be used and see how much room you have left.

Where will you use it?

Length

0 / 1000

1000 characters left for a main dm.

Limits are those of the InboxLoop automation builder. Some emoji count as more than one character, so leave a small margin.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type or choose is saved or sent to InboxLoop.

How to use it

  1. Paste or type your message in the box.
  2. Choose where it will be used: main DM, opening message, public reply, link button or opening button.
  3. Check the counter and the bar. If it turns orange, you are over the limit for that field.
  4. Shorten the text, then copy it into the builder.

A worked example

Example: one label, two limits

  • "Get the price list" is 18 characters. It fits both the 30-character link button and the 20-character opening button.
  • "Download the full price list" is 28 characters. It fits a link button but is over the opening button limit of 20.

Limits used here: DM 1,000, opening message 640, public reply 220, link button 30, opening button 20 (InboxLoop builder).

The limits this checker uses

The checker uses the limits of the InboxLoop automation builder: 1,000 characters for the main DM, 640 for an opening message, 220 for a public reply, 30 for a link button label and 20 for an opening button label.

These are InboxLoop limits, not a statement of Meta's own platform limits, which can differ and change. Treat the count as a guide for writing short messages.

Why shorter messages work better

A DM that answers one question in two or three sentences is easier to read in a notification and easier to act on. Put the useful part in the first line, keep the call to action to one button and move detail to the page you link to.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Writing a long public reply. Keep it to a short confirmation and put the detail in the DM.
  • Counting by eye. Emoji and line breaks take up characters too.
  • Putting several calls to action in one message. One button per message is easier to act on.
  • Treating these as Meta limits. They are InboxLoop builder limits.

Questions about this tool

Are emoji counted?

The checker counts characters as your browser sees them. Some emoji are made of several characters, so leave a small margin.

Does it store my message?

No. Everything runs in your browser.

Can I use the first-name token?

In Comment to DM, Story Reply and DM Auto Reply messages, yes. It is not supported in Email Collection messages.

Do line breaks count?

They count as characters in the checker, so a message with many short lines uses more room than it looks.

What happens if I go over?

The builder will not accept the text, so shorten it here first.
