How to use the caption line
A comment-to-DM post only works if people know exactly what to type. Put the keyword in the caption, say it in the Reel, and make sure your automation listens for the same word. If the caption says LINK and the automation listens for SHOP, nobody gets a message.
- Keep the keyword to one short word that is easy to type on a phone.
- Say what the person gets. "Comment LINK" is weaker than "Comment LINK for the price list".
- Match the surface. For Stories, ask people to reply instead of comment.
- Add the variations people will type to the trigger, up to 20 keywords per automation.
Then set up the automation
Create a Comment to DM automation in InboxLoop, which is free during Early Access, add your keyword and write the DM. Copy-ready messages are in our Instagram DM templates, and the full walkthrough is in the comment-to-DM guide. For Stories, see Instagram Story reply auto DM.
Questions about caption lines
Does the keyword have to be in capitals?
Capitals only make the word easy to spot in your caption. Test your automation with the exact way people will type it, and add common variations to the trigger.
Can I use more than one keyword?
Yes. A trigger in InboxLoop takes up to 20 keywords. Ask for one in the caption and add the common variations behind the scenes.
Can I use Hinglish?
Yes. The tool writes Hinglish versions too. Use the language your followers use in their comments.
